Korda Shot On The Hook
Shot on the Hook – Pure Tungsten Hook Weights
Since appearing in the Korda Underwater series filmed at Norton Disney, interest in the Shot on the Hook weights has skyrocketed. The rig has seen a huge resurgence in popularity, and for good reason—it’s proven to dramatically improve hook-ups with bottom baits, wafters, and snowman presentations.
These compact hook weights work by adding subtle weight to the hook point itself, making it far more effective at turning and grabbing hold inside the carp’s mouth. The result? More efficient hook holds, quicker bites, and fewer missed chances.
Crafted from pure tungsten, these weights offer exceptional density in a small size. That means you get all the benefits of a heavier setup without bulky materials—perfect for maintaining a discreet and balanced presentation. Each weight is fitted with a rubber insert that simply slides over the hook point, keeping it securely in place. When it’s time to change your rig, they can be reused—just slide them off barbless hooks or, for barbed hooks, crush the barb before removal.
Danny Fairbrass says:
"Nothing in recent years has improved my bottom bait results like this has. I was keen to release it straight away, but Damian and the team held back to make it just right—and I’m glad they did. What we’ve ended up with is a brilliantly simple, reusable bit of kit that works with everything from plastic corn on a size 8, to a 24mm bottom bait on a size 2."
