A relatively new deadbait, but one that has taken the pike world by storm since we introduced them to the UK angling market in 2007.
Blueys are a relative of the garfish, and as the name suggests, they have a metallic blue colour and long, slightly flattened body shape. Each bait is approximately 12&rdquo in length, meaning they can be used whole when a really big bait is required, or more usually cut in half to make two baits.
One of the main advantages of blueys is that they are absolutely packed with fish oil and this is something that pike find highly attractive. The high oil content also makes them slightly more buoyant than other deadbaits, although they naturally sink and rest lightly on weed.
